  Software - GetLocationName

GetLocationName is a MacOSX Foundation Tool (command line application). It will read a network preference file (/var/db/SystemConfiguration/preferences.xml) for the current network location, and prints it. That's it. You can rename the binary to a better name, see if I care :)

Also, there is a Perl ObjC (perldoc PerlObjCBridge for more details) version that I hacked out in some 10 minutes just to try it.

Please note that any readme.txt or license.txt in the Software package take precendence over the information above.
